What is AIFF?
AIFF is default sound file fomat on Macintosh or Mac computers and was co-developed by Apple based on Electronic Arts Interchange File Format (IFF) in order to store high-quality audio and musical instrument information. AIFF stands for Audio Interchange File Format and is functionally identical to Windows WAV.
It is widely used in professional programs that process digital audio waveforms and it can include both sampled sound and MIDI data. It can be mono or stereo, at sampling rates up to 48kHz. AIFF files are compatible with QuickTime.
