Tone2 Firebird Synthesizer
Tone2 Firebird is not just another synthesizer. It provides a powerful, unique, and innovative synthesis architecture for next-generation sounds never heard before. 300 build-in sounds present a full range of useful workhorse studio standards as well as very special Firebird sounds characterized by multi-layered subtle modulations which add new life and dynamics to the sounds. Firebird can sound like many other virtual synthesizers but none of them can sound like Firebird can.

Firebird features Harmonic Content Morphing (HCM) Synthesis:
The new synthesis method is based on a large and expandable repertoire of standard waves like saw or pulse as well as complex waves like multi waves, trumpets, organs, pads, pianos, and voice samples. These waves can be modified in real-time by e.g. transposing the wave by one or two octaves and adding it to the original wave, altering its harmonic structure, syncing, compressing or expanding the frequency domain of the spectrum, making the wave fat using only one (!) oscillator by transforming each wave into a hyper-wave, selecting some cycles of a sample and moving through them over time (comparable to wave-table synthesis). Any modification of a wave can be modulated producing lively shimmery sounds (recall: with only one oscillator!). In total there are more than 14,000 different spectra available for combination and modulation.
Morph OSCs (each morph OSC contains 256 singe waveforms): Single Waveforms (STA Noise, STA Saw, STA Pulse, STA Sine, STA Peek, STA Comb, STA Platine), Organ (OR Church, OR Clicks, OR Hammon, OR Tremolo, OR Orgicat), Brass (BR Sax, BR Trump 1, BR Trump 2), Vocoder (VO Electro, VO Synth VO Vocod VO Music VO We aâ€Â? VO Let… VO I am… VO Welâ€Â?VO Dloop 1 VO Dloop 2) Piano (PI Piano 1, PI Piano 2, PI Harpsich), Pulses (EL PWM, EL Multisqu), FX (SO Sines, SO Ambie 1, SO Ambie 2, SO Digital, SO Morph, SO Multi, SO Platine, SO Fedsyn, SO Lava, SO Siao), Percussion (PE Bowl, PE Bell, PE Marimba), Other (OT Didge, OT Flute), Saws (EL Beta 2x, EL Beta 4x, EL Multisaw, EL Flange 1, EL Flange 2, EL Synced, Sine morphed, PD Peek, PD Squ, PD Saw), Guitar (GT Slap 1, GT Slap 2, GT Sitar, GT Saz)
Firebird filter and effects:
The filter is much more than what you would expect: It is a standard biquad-based or a Moog-type low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, or shelving filter. But it can also provide more complex lter characteristics for vocal or M-shape lters. Finally, it gives you ADSR- or LFO-modulated phaser-effects, AM- or FM-modulation. The effects section has several reverb and stereo tab delay variations, chorus, ensemble, flanger, and rotary effects as well as combinations. Firebird comes with an extremely powerful arpeggiator. A fat knob doubles or quadruples the number of oscillators giving up to 8 (!) oscillators per voice. IQM (intelligent micro tuning) makes chords harmonically cleaner and at the same time more fat.
Firebird features Intelligent Microtuning
IQM (intelligent micro tuning) is a feature of Firebird which automatically tunes the notes that you play so they play in a different scale and sounds more “fat”. For example when you play C2 and C3 on your keyboard, Firebird will detune both notes slightly which results in a fatter or thicker sounds. IQM also allows chords to be processed to make them sounds more clean. For example a major chord has the frequency relationship of
Note 1 : Note 2 : Note 3 = 1 : 1.2599 : 1.498
But after being processed by Firebird, after each note has been detuned slightly, the new frequency relationship would be
Note 1 : Note 2 : Note 3 = 1 : 1.25 : 1.5
This intelligent micro tuning results in cleaner chords, and it happens automatically – you don’t even need to turn IQM on, it’s always working!
