Jayzen Sound released the Carvin Electric Bass sample library in GigaStudio format. This large-format library is modeled after the Carvin “Bunny Brunel” Electric Bass. It uses full-length individual note samples, has tonal patches to emulate Open, 5th, or 10th playing positions, includes a patch of chromatically mapped open string harmonics and also throws in some amazing special effects that you won’t find in any other bass library. It excels at creating authentic Jazz/Pop Bass lines and offers a wide selection of tones for composition and sound design.

Carvin Electric Bass Virtual Instrument features:

There are two banks of 10 patches: one bank using the Rhythm pick-up, and the other using the Lead pick-up - each is set up the same way to make it simple to switch back and forth.
Patches 0 to 5: Six patches of string variations corresponding to different fretboard playing positions. These patches allow you to create a highly authentic bass sound, and provides a range of useful tonal variations.
Slides: Two patches of slides: one up, and one down, playable over a wide range of starting notes. Down slides are velocity sensitive for a 1 or 2 octave slide range.
String harmonics: A selection of natural-sounding open-string harmonics, mapped chromatically across the keyboard for easy playing.
Special Effects: A collection of unusual string noises, scrapes, and other interesting bass guitar sounds that lend themselves to many highly creative uses!

The Jayzen Sound Virtual Instruments are custom designed in GigaStudio format - directly compatible with Tascam GigaStudio and able to be imported into most other professional software samplers. Compatible with Tascam GigaStudio (version 2 or greater), and other software samplers capable of importing “.gig” format files.

Also available are “light” versions of the same Bass, designed in the Soundfont format for wide compatibility with almost all samplers. The Deep Bass 2 Soundfont gives a full 2 octave sampling of the lowest B-string, great for Acid Jazz styles and general sound design use, and the Electric Bass 2 Soundfont gives a single patch of matching picked notes and string harmonics for use in modern composition work.
