Indiginus Acoustic Guitar Collection
Indiginus’ Acoustic Guitar Collection is a sample library in AKAI S-2000 format, which makes it compatible (or importable) with just about any sampling system out there. Of course, it is up to the user to know the import procedure and the extent of compatibility. For this library, a 1955 Martin D-28, a Guild JF 30, a Taylor 410, and a Silvertone nylon-string guitar were sampled and arranged into instruments with an emphasis on feel and playability. Both fingerpicked and picked versions of each guitar are included.
The “Nashville”: A Guild JF30 was used to create “The Nashville” set of instruments. It’s warm, mellow sound is great for use on ballads.
The “Blue Ridge”: A 1955 Martin D28 was used to create “The Blue Ridge”. Great for country and bluegrass styles, this guitar has a bit of twang.
The “California”: A Taylor 410 was used to create “The California”. This is a bright sounding guitar that cuts through on rock styles with heavy instrumentation
The “NylonTone”A 60s vintage Silvertone nylon-string guitar was used to createthe “NylonTone”. Don’t underestimate this guitar- it sounded the best of the nylon string guitars I auditioned! The softer side of Sears.
Strums: Major and minor chord samples (up and down strokes) arranged in an easy to play configuration. Lots of fun and very convincing.
The Acoustic Guitar Collection makes use of several keymap and velocity response configurations to make playing feel and sound more natural.

The “Full” instruments have four velocity layers, with the top two layers containg loud and soft sustain samples. The harmonic samples overlap a portion of the mute samples to create an area that is a bit unpredictable- in a good way!

The “Slide” instruments have four velocity layers, with the top layer containing the slide samples. The harmonic and mute samples are in the same arrangement as in the “Full” instrumemts.

The “Strums” programs contain major and minor chord samples (up and down strokes) arranged in an easy to play configuration.
Recently, Indiginus was invited by sample legends HollowSun to make a version of one of the guitars on this collection available as a download for the Alesis Fusion synthesizer line. According to Steve Howell of Hollow Sun, “I am pleased to ‘endorse’ the amazing products from new soundware developer INDIGINUS who have taken Akai sampling and programming to a new level with their amazing Acoustic Guitar Collection, arguably the best set of acoustic guitar samples I have heard“.
