About Studio Devil

Studio Devil is a virtual tube amplifier processor based on dynamic models of vacuum tube preamps and power stages. While primarily intended for guitar amp modeling and direct recording of both electric guitar and bass, Studio Devil excels wherever natural tube overdrive and distortion is needed.

Studio Devil was founded by Marc Gallo, lead DSP engineer and inventor of Studio Devil’s vacuum tube preamplifier emulation technologies.

I’ve started doing this stuff way back in 1989, when you could barely get even the simplest audio processes to work in real-time. It still amazes me how much processing is going on under the hood of the Studio Devil engine, and that it doesn’t even put a dent in the CPU load of today’s modern processors!

Marc is a member of the Audio Engineering Society. He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is a licensed professional engineer and is currently pursuing a PhD at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn.
