3RD Power SV3015 Rack-mount Tube Amp
3RD Power is proud to announce the SV3015 Stereo Valve Power amplifier. SV3015 is a Stereo Valve Power Amplifier that provides switchable 30 or 15 watts of pure tube tone and amplification designed for recording and touring musicians that demand the uncompromising sound and feel of a pure tube output stage without excessive volume.

“Basically, the SV3015 takes all the flexibility and tone found in the power amp section of our flagship HD100 tube amp and puts it in a rack-mount design,” notes 3RD Power founder and designer Jamie Scott. “With so many artists now using computer-based and modeling systems, we saw a need for a pure tube design to bring more warmth and classic tone to digitally-based guitar rigs. The SV3015 helps modern guitarists get the best possible tone out their rack-based rigs.”
SV3015’s Modeling Preamps
With their variety of bang-for-buck tonal simulations, modeling preamps have come a long way. But for discerning musicians, they often fall short of delivering the authentic performance of a real tube guitar amplifier. Why? The simple answer is that it would take literally millions of hours to effectively simulate the finer aspects of even one single amplifier. We’re talking about things such as current flow, voltage swing (several hundred volts!), tube types, bias settings, transformers, circuit impedances, speaker construction, cone excursion (you know, actually pushing air!), room acoustics etc. While it could be done, the variety-to-cost ratio wouldn’t make much sense.
SV3015’s Hybrid Approach to Guitar Tone
Early-era modeling amps provided great value in an affordable package that included a solid-state power amp attached to speakers. They sounded good by themselves but often got lost in the mix when playing with a band. The solution: go hybrid. Shape your tone with a modeling preamp of your choice, then connect it to a tube power amplifier and extension speaker cabinet. Now you’ve got tone shaping variety on the front end connected to a tube amplifier and speaker with actual electrons and air molecules flowing!
SV3015 is Intuitive
Operating the unit is simple: each discreet channel is equipped with individual controls for Volume, Presence and “PUSH.” The PUSH control is a 3RD POWER innovation that provides low-frequency enhancement allowing you to dial in the perfect amount of rich bottom-end tone.
SV3015 is Versatile
Each discreet EL34 (or optional 6L6) output section includes a selectable Power Mode (30 watts/15 watts), Impedance (16 ohm/ 8 ohm) and Phase reversal. Imagine configuring your setup to operate one channel at full power for clean sounds (more clean headroom), the other set at 15 watts for overdrive sounds (more output stage compression and harmonics)… now a jaw-dropping reality with the SV3015!
Have you ever plugged into a multi-amp setup and found the end result to be a mushy, hollow sound? It was most likely due to a phase mismatch between amplifiers. The SV3015 makes certain that you can optimally run your modeling setup in conjunction with other guitar amps. So, when the moment arises that you need to play through a multi-amp setup, you’ll be good to go without any weirdness in your phase.
